As a smaller organization or business, chances are you don't have a resident Graphic Designer.
That means you're creating social posts, announcement slides and website images on your own. Maybe you use online templates. Or maybe you use PowerPoint themes to convey the information.
Canva is a great resource for templates that are well-designed and that will get the attention of the people you're trying to communicate to.
While I normally use PicMonkey or VistaCreate for my designs, I have had alot of success using Canva as well.
Canva offers a wonderful design tool, but it also offers something else -- Graphic Design training.
There are a number of courses to choose from, but I found one in particular to be really helpful in providing a primer of foundational graphic design principles that any church administrator or communicator needs. It's called Graphic Design Basics, and of course, it's absolutely free.
From font choices to colour theory to photography and text layout, this course is a bite-sized crash course in graphic design. Even if you are already familiar with the basics of good design, it's a welcome refresher.
